Haters are always gonna hate: case in point, Fergie’s unexpected rendition of the U.S. national anthem last night.
It was widely ridiculed as the “worst rendition ever,” but its jazzy take is arguably quite fitting.
Does it not bring on some old school cool to the proceedings?
Hey, I like prog, so my distinctively refined tastes diverge quite definitely from those of the masses…
“Does it not bring on some old school cool to the proceedings?”
It’s far better than I expected, based on the hysterical, snarky comments I read this morning on the ESPN site. Not my favorite, but hardly a mess. I suppose we have to keep in mind that in the NBA, “old school cool” probably only backs to about 2003 or so. And I say this as a big NBA fan (that is, of the basketball, not the layers of nonsense that surround The League).

Haha, yeah, “old school” would be Fergie’s first solo album!

After all the brew-ha-ha I expected a car crash, but Fergie has the guts to stand out there, take control and delivered it with style.
