Big Big Train Announce “The Underfall Yard” Reissue

Absolutely brilliant news from Big Big Train. After teasing us regarding a reissue of 2009’s The Underfall Yard for the past couple years, Big Big Train is finally giving it to us in April! It’ll contain the original album plus a second CD of extras, including two brand new tracks. It’ll also be released on vinyl for the first time in addition to the two-CD digipack. More from the band after the jump:

We are delighted to announce the re-issue on 9 April 2021 of our 2009 album, The Underfall Yard, available in 2CD and 3LP formats as well as digitally on Bandcamp and all major streaming services.

THE UNDERFALL YARD

The album was originally released in December 2009 and was the first to feature David Longdon, Nick D’Virgilio and Dave Gregory as, respectively, the band’s lead singer, drummer and guitarist. The Underfall Yard was released before the resurgence of interest in vinyl and the re-issue will be the first time that the album has been available on vinyl. There will also be a two CD edition, alongside download and streaming releases.

For the re-issue of The Underfall Yard, the band’s mixing engineer Rob Aubrey went back to the original multi-track sessions and remixed the album to ensure the best audio quality.

Alongside the remix of the original album, we are pleased to present a number of additional songs, including two new tracks and previously unreleased 2020 studio recordings of Victorian Brickwork and the album’s title track, featuring the band’s line-up prior to the departures of Dave Gregory, Rachel Hall and Danny Manners. Cover artist Jim Trainer has also provided additional paintings which feature in both the vinyl and CD editions.

VINYL AND CD RELEASES

There is a limited edition version of the vinyl release (on cherry cola coloured heavyweight vinyl and limited to 500 copies). The limited edition is available only through our official store, Burning Shed.

The standard vinyl edition, which will be available via Burning Shed and all major record stores, features black heavyweight vinyl.

Both vinyl editions feature the original album, remixed on two LPs, plus a third LP featuring the additional material. Both are presented in a trifold sleeve

Additionally, 10 individually numbered vinyl test pressings will be sold through Burning Shed.

The CD version is available as a two CD digipack, with a 16 page booklet.
