The new Big Big Train album has eight tracks, if you count “Along the Ridgeway / Salisbury Giant” as one track, which you should, since the two fit together seamlessly.
David Longdon writes about four of the tracks:
Folklore 7:33
London Plane 10:13
Along the Ridgeway 6:12 / Salisbury Giant 3:37
The Transit of Venus Across the Sun 7:20
Wassail 6:57
Winkie 8:25
Brooklands 12:44
Telling the Bees 6:02
Greg Spawton also writes about four of the tracks:
Folklore 7:33
London Plane 10:13
Along the Ridgeway 6:12 / Salisbury Giant 3:37
The Transit of Venus Across the Sun 7:20
Wassail 6:57
Winkie 8:25
Brooklands 12:44
Telling the Bees 6:02
Short album review: My favorite tracks are the middle four in the above running order (i.e., tracks 3 to 7 on the CD). But note that the vinyl double album gatefold edition has a different track order, since it includes two other tracks from the Wassail EP on the vinyl side 2. I consider this to be the album’s definitive running order:
Side 1:
Folklore 7:33
Along the Ridgeway 6:12
Salisbury Giant 3:37
Side 2:
London Plane 10:13
Mudlarks 6:10
Lost Rivers of London 6:02
Side 3:
The Transit of Venus Across the Sun 7:20
Wassail 6:57
Winkie 8:25
Side 4:
Brooklands 12:44
Telling the Bees 6:02
