The first single from the forthcoming Big Big Train album “Grand Tour” is now online.  My impressions follow the jump:

A straight-up rocker that’s straight-up fun!  Musically, a driving Nick d’Virgilio beat, with lots of nifty bits & bobs from all — and a Danny Manners Mellotron hook a la “Watcher of the Skies”.  Lyrically, a “traveling man” set-up for the theme of “Grand Tour”.  The video (by the Towards Infinity crew, best known for their work with Marillion) is notable for the “air band” theme and black & white footage of the band walking the streets of London (all remarkably warm and inviting).
